Not eligible – what next?
You may not be eligible to take part in HERITAGE right now
Thank you very much for your interest in the HERITAGE study.
Based on your answers, you may not currently be able to take part. This could be for a number of reasons, for example:
- You are under 18 or not living in the UK
- Your symptoms have not been present for long enough
- You have received care from a specialist NHS Long Covid or ME/CFS clinic that is not part of HERITAGE
- You do not currently meet the study’s inclusion criteria
HERITAGE includes specific groups of participants so that we can make fair and meaningful comparisons between different care pathways and experiences.
🔄 You might become eligible in the future
In some cases, eligibility can change over time. For example:
- If you are waiting for an assessment or diagnosis
- If your symptoms have not yet reached the required duration
- If your care pathway changes
You are welcome to revisit the join page again in the future to check if you have become eligible. We will be recruiting until January 2027.
🙌 You can still support HERITAGE
Even if you can’t take part as a participant, there are still ways to make a valuable contribution.
📢 Help spread the word
You can help others find out about the study by sharing:
- Our study website
- Our social media posts
- Information within your community (e.g. GP surgeries, support groups, workplaces) using our poster.

🤝 Support someone else to take part
You may know someone who is eligible for HERITAGE.
You can:
- Let them know about the study
- Share the website or poster
- Support them to sign up or complete questionnaires (if appropriate)
A family member, carer or friend can support participation if needed.

- Findings and outputs
- Opportunities to get involved in other ways
